Simple present:

It is used to describe routines or habits.
With the pronouns She-He-It, we have to add s to the end of the verb.
If the verb finishes in o-x-sh-ch-ss We have to add “ES” at the end of the verb.

Example      She loves music.              He Watches TV.

If the verb finishes in “y” preceded by consonant we have to change “y” by “I” and add “es”.

STUDY +   IES           PLAY+S

Example:   She studies English.      She plays tennis              


When the sentence begins with I-We-You-They, the verb doesn´t change.

Example:        I love  music.           


Present continuous:

It is used to describe an action that is happening now, In the same moment of the act of speaking. It’s formed with the verb be and adding ing to the end of the verb. It is used with verbs of motion not with verbs of mental perception such as understand, like, love, etc.

Example:                     She is running.
                                       I am studying.
                                    We are dancing.
                             

If the verb finishes in “E” We have to erase “e” and add “ing”.
He is dancing.

When the verb has only one syllable and finishes in consonant preceded by vowel, We double final consonant before adding ING.
